Appointed back in March as the successor to Mark Hawkes on a short term deal with the club deep in trouble and fighting relegation from National League South, the 33-year-old, pictured, has the full backing of the board at Woodside Park after agreeing to carry on in his first managerial post.
Watson guided his side to a 4-0 demolition of Truro City on the final day of the season and arrived with a wealth of knowledge from his playing days at a number of other clubs including Swindon and Luton Town along with managerial experience at Maldon & Tiptree and as assistant manager at Eastleigh, Whitehawk and alongside Teddy Sheringham at Stevenage.
In a statement announcing Watson's appointment for the 2017-18 season, the Blues also confirmed that Ashley Harris was staying on at the Hertfordshire club as goalkeeping coach.
A spokesman said: "We hope all Blues fans will give Kevin and his team their full support."
