Tuesday's South & West action review

By David Watters

Taunton Town moved into the top five in the EVO-STIK League Southern Division One South & West on Tuesday night after a comprehensive 5-1 win away from home at Bishops Cleeve, writes Steve Whitney.

Taunton were looking to recover from last Saturday`s 2-1 defeat not too far away at Paulton Rovers, while Cleeve hoped to back up a fine 4-2 success at Swindon Supermarine with victory at Kayte Lane.

But the Somerset side dominated the first half and went in at half-time two-up through goals by Matt Buse after 17 minutes and Matt Wright on 26 minutes.

The home team suddenly came alive with a goal through Jack Watts in the 47th minute but Ross Staley restored Taunton's two-goal lead in the 68th minute. Owen Irish on 80 minutes and then substitute Jordan Rogers two minutes from time piled on the agony for the home side towards the end.
