Bluebirds salute boss and stalwart

EVO-STIK League Southern Chippenham Town have been paying tribute to long-serving manager Mark Collier.

The former Swindon Supermarine boss is pictured being presented with a glass decanter by Bluebirds chairman Neil Blackmore to mark his 500th game at the helm.

Collier, who was honoured at Hardenhuish Park before his side's 4-0 win over Dorchester last week, succeeded Neil Winter at the EVO-STIK League Southern Premier Division club in November 2013.

As Supermarine boss, the 56-year-old famously led the club to the second round of the FA Cup in November 2010, where they lost 1-0 to League One Colchester. Before joining the Bluesbirds the former Swindon Town coach went on to work at Wootton Bassett and Abingdon United.

Collier's milestone was marked after the club paid tribute to another stalwart last month, kit manager Tony Godwin who has been ever present at Hardenhuish Park since 1992. In almost a quarter of a century of service, Goodwin has served as a steward, youth team manager and even interim first team manager!
