Tuesday's South & West action review

By David Watters

Tiverton Town were looking to move into second place in the EVO-STIK League Southern Division One South & West on Tuesday night when they made the short trip up the M5 to take on bottom-markers Bridgwater Town, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

However, Jake Horsey`s 13th minute goal for Bridgwater at Fairfax Park proved to be the winner and lift the hosts out of the bottom two.

Swindon Supermarine and Shortwood United are fourth and fifth respectively after both won on Tuesday.

Supermarine stunned hosts Wimborne Town by winning 5-1, with Josh Parsons bagging a brace and Connor Waldon, Joe Selman and a Pat Hester own goal accounting for their nap hand, Toby Holmes having given the Magpies a 13th minute lead.

Shortwood won 2-1 at home to Winchester City, who led through Andy Jenkinson`s second minute goal. Liam Meredith equalised eight minutes into the second half and Adam Price won it 13 minutes from time.

George Seacole netted a hat-trick as North Leigh recovered from last weekend`s FA Cup hammering at Eastleigh to topple a disappointing Salisbury FC 3-2.

Tommy Wright gave the Whites an early fourth minute lead that Seacole turned round with two goals in two minutes shortly after the break. Wright quickly equalised, but Seacole completed his hat-trick 15 minutes from time.
