Tuesday's Central Division action review

By David Watters

Farnborough`s surge up the EVO-STIK League Southern's Division One Central table was halted by Uxbridge on Tuesday night, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Spencer Day`s side had to make do with a point from a 2-2 Cherrywood Road draw, despite taking an early second minute lead through Nic Ciardini.

Anthony Thomas equalised just shy of the hour-mark, only for Josh Huggins to restore Boro`s lead 12 minutes from time. But Thomas` second in the 83rd minute salvaged a point for the Reds.

Promoted AFC Kempston Rovers moved level on points with Farnborough after they edged out hosts Potters Bar Town by the odd goal in five.

Lamar Simpson gave the hosts a 27th minute lead that Danny Watson cancelled out six minutes later. Tom Guiney put the Walnut Boys in front right on the stroke of half-time, only to seemingly have been held to a draw when Eoin Casey equalised a minute into stoppage time at the end of the game. But three minutes further into added time and Alex Stoyles grabbed Kempston`s winner.

Third-placed Chalfont St Peter were involved in an eight-goal thriller at Hanwell Town.

Joe Chandiram gave Hanwell the lead after nine minutes. Kofi Lockhart-Adams equalised in the 20th minute and then Brad Simmonds restored the home side`s lead eight minutes later. Lockhart-Adams` second four minutes later restored parity, only for Simmonds to take the home side into the break 3-2 up.

Lockhart-Adams completed his hat-trick six minutes into the second period to make it all-square at 3-3 and then two goals in a dramatic stoppage time period from Tyrone Pink and then Remmel Clarke won it for the Saints.

Royston Town and Barton Rovers are fourth and fifth respectively, but it was Rovers who came out on top of another goal fest at Garden Walk.

Connor Calcutt with two and Billy Adcock gave the visitors a 3-0 lead inside 13 minutes. Royston had a great chance to cut the deficit three minutes later, but Lewis Todd saved a penalty.

Three minutes later and Jack Bradshaw did pull one back for the Crows before Adam Murray made it 2-3 just four minutes later. Rod Orlando-Young took Rovers into the break 4-2 up and then Jordan Wynter after 74 minutes and Orlando-Young again three minutes from time, made it 6-2. Bridges had the final word with Royston`s third a couple of minutes from time.

Promoted Ashford Town (Middx) dropped out of the top five after losing another high scoring game at home against lowly Fleet Town.

The visitors raced into a 3-0 lead with goals from Ben White after 19 minutes, a Lewis Taylor own goal 20 minutes later and Pat Cox right on half-time. Mark Bitmead pulled one back for the Tangerines on the hour-mark, only for Cox to net his second and Fleet`s fourth in the 72nd minute.

The hosts made Fleet sweat though as Kameron English on 87 minutes and then Samad Kazi five minutes into stoppage time, pulled it back to 3-4.

Egham Town hit three without reply at home against second-bottom Petersfield Town, Brendan Matthew bagging a brace in the 18th and 48th minutes before Reece Yorke added a third on 63 minutes.

Bottom-markers Histon were hit for six at Chestnut Avenue by Northwood.

It took 31 minutes for Wood to breakthrough with a terrific 30-yard free-kick from Louis Stead. That opened the floodgates and it was 3-0 at the break with Ryan Debattista and Luke Heneghan on target. Ismael Ehui added number four in the 71st minute and four minutes later Stead`s penalty made it a nap hand for Wood, with Louis Bircham making it 6-0 in the 78th minute.

And the Tuesday goal fest continued at Kidlington where Aylesbury FC ran out 3-2 winners

The visiting Moles took the lead through Lee Stobbs after 16 minutes but were pegged back just after the break through Jack Dunmail. Jonny Montgomery restored the visitors` lead eight minutes after half-time before Kidlington again drew level, courtesy of an Ashley Vincent own goal. Ty Deacon then earned the Moles all three points 10 minutes from time in a pulsating game.

It took 54 minutes for Bedford Town to breakthrough at the New Eyrie in a 2-1 win against neighbours AFC Dunstable, thanks to recent signing Nathan Frater.

And just five minutes later, Luke Knight`s spot-kick doubled the Eagles lead. Bernard Christie reduced the arrears five minutes later but they weren`t able to find an equaliser.
