After scoring 30 goals last season for Barton Rovers, the former Stevenage and Wealdstone hot-shot is looking forward to doing the same for Farnborough after signing a one year deal with the EVO-STIK League Southern Division One Central play-off champions.
Calutt, Day's first signing of the summer last week for the EVO-STIK League Southern's top flight, said: "The ground looks unbelievable for what it is. I think the standard of football - the league they're going into, this ground is easily one of the best, if not the best and apart from that I think it's everything.
"His [Spencer’s] ambition matches mine. He wants to get Farnborough in the highest possible position he can. Obviously the ground needs to be filled and needs as many people in here as we can and the way they're going to do that is by scoring goals and getting promoted. For me, that's what I want to be a part of.
"I am physical, I'm good in the air and if there's half a chance in the penalty box, nine times out of ten I'll score it. The players are going to be playing around me with pace - I think I'm going to add the battering ram and the little quick players can do the running so to speak!
"The league is going to be tough this year. There's a lot of big clubs in here. There's a lot of clubs that are all trying to get the same thing. The reason I chose Farnborough is because the squad he's got is very strong all over. He's asked me to play a role and I think I can play that really well and we're going to give it a proper go.
He added: "I'm going to try and improve on last season. I think I scored 32 goals in all competitions in about 40 games, so this season I'm going to go for another 30 but I want to play a little bit more. I want to get more involved, I want more assists. I want to start trying to play better football so I think 30 is my minimum. Whatever I can add on that will just be a nice bonus."
Day, whose seen skipper CJ Fearn and key midfielder Scott Donnelly commit to the 2017-18 campaign at the Rushmoor Community Stadium this week, said: "I am delighted to secure the signature of my first choice target for the summer to strengthen the squad as we look for another promotion. We beat off a lot of quality clubs that sought Connor’s services which is not surprising as he’s had a fantastic season and still has huge development potential.
"For a young man he’s already got great experience in both the Football League and the Conference South and I was incredibly impressed with him when I sat down to discuss the move and am delighted that he chose Boro. Alongside our other strikers we now have a massive goal threat as we move towards another exciting season.”
