The EVO-STIK League Southern is celebrating the signing of a four year benchwear partnership deal with leading sports brand Mitre.

One of the world's leading brands of sports equipment and footballs and already the league's official match ball supplier, Mitre will supply benchwear kit to the managers, coaches and substitutes of all 68 clubs competing in the EVO-STIK League Southern's three divisions after being unveiled on Thursday.

In a statement announcing the new partnership, delighted officials thanked Peterborough-based Hereward Sports & Leisure for the company's role in teaming up with Mitre after new EVO-STIK League Southern chairman Terry Barratt committed to securing new commercial and sponsorship partners on his appointment at June's annual general meeting.

A spokesman said “We are very pleased to have agreed a four year deal for benchwear kit for our 68 member clubs with such a prestigious sports brand as Mitre. The league’s chairman made a commitment to the clubs at the 2016 AGM that he would endeavour to help secure such a deal so this is fantastic news for all our clubs."

He added: "With the help and assistance of Hereward Sports & Leisure this came to fruition to be introduced during the early stages of the 2016-17 season and the league is now looking forward to a long and successful partnership with Mitre.”

Mitre Sports International's brand activation manager Donna Smith said: "We are delighted to announce our continued partnership with the EVO-STIK League Southern which will see us supply both benchwear and match balls to all teams.

"Mitre has a strong history, celebrating its 200th year anniversary in 2017, and our values lie truly at the heart of the game. This sponsorship allows us to continue supporting clubs at all levels, delivering high quality kit to the players and coaches."
