Skipper extends decade long stay

Skipper Matt Bennett has signed on again for what will be his 11th season at EVO-STIK League Southern Shortwood United. Meadowbank.

During his time at Meadowbank, Bennett, pictured, has been a pivotal figure as the Nailsworth outfit established themselves in EVO-STIK League Southern Division One South & West.

He joins last season's top scorer Jake Lee and centre halves Andy Lewis and Ed Weeks, a former Tiverton Town defender, in committing themselves to the 2016-17 campaign.

Manager Alex Sykes is optimistic that fellow defender Niall Halford will also sign up for coming campaign in the coming days.
