Skipper collects milestone memento

Dorchester Town made sure their skipper Jake Smeeton wouldn't forget his 300th appearance for the EVO-STIK League Southern's Magpies.

Before making his milestone appearance in last weekend's 0-0 draw in the EVO-STIK League Southern's top flight with Redditch United at The Avenue Stadium, the 28-year-old former Yeovil Town defender was feted on the pitch before kick-off.

Pictured with his daughter collecting a silver platter from Magpies chairman Matt Lucas, left, and club president Keith Kellaway, the popular 28-year-old has played under nine different managers since making his first team debut on 11 August 2007 in a 0-3 win away at St Albans City.

Now in his tenth season with the Dorset club, Smeeton has already equalled his goal tally of eight since arriving with four this term to match the quartet he'd scored in the previous nine seasons.
