Robinson rewarded with new deal

Former Wellington boss Leigh Robinson will be guiding Taunton Town next season whatever happens in the EVO-STIK League Southern's promotion play-offs.

Robinson, pictured, was reappointed for the 2017-18 campaign ahead of his third-placed side's 0-0 draw with Bideford at the Viridor Stadium on Easter Monday in EVO-STIK League Division One South & West.

Robinson has been at the club for five years and was offered a new deal after steering the Peacocks to a first round proper replay at Barrow in the Emirates FA Cup back in November and keeping their promotion push going ever since.

Taunton Town chairman and chief executive Kevin Sturmey said: “I am delighted the board have unanimously reappointed Leigh. As far as I am concerned it was a no brainer. Leigh had a tough baptism in his first season with us but since then has quietly gone about his business. He is one of the most focussed people I have ever met in football."
