'No need to motivate' - Ford

BANBURY United boss Mike Ford says he will not need to motivate his side ahead of their biggest league match of the season in the Evo-Stik South League Premier Division tomorrow.

The Puritans travel to Edgar Street to take on title-chasing Hereford, with a crowd well in excess of 2,000 expected.

The Banbury boss said: “It will be a massive game for us. For me to try and say it’s like any other game would be totally wrong. We need to treat it like it’s different.

“It’s the biggest stadium and will be the biggest attendance we play in front of, so I will not need to get my players up for the game.”

Ford insists they will be travelling there for victory and continue their excellent away record.

“I don’t want us to go there and be gallant losers,” he said.“We need to play and ensure we are in control of our destiny and show real composure.

“I will be very disappointed if we come off the pitch with nothing. I want us to be winners, not just Saturday, but all the time.”

Banbury will be at full-strength for the trip

Callum McNish and Seth Humphries remain sidelined through injury, but Marlon Agyakwa and Louis Joyce are both available again, while Ollie Thomas returns from suspension

Didcot Town’s push for the West Division play-offs faces the sternest of tests when they travel to play runaway leaders Taunton Town.

Taunton have lost just once all season and are well clear at the top, but Andy Ballard’s in-form team travel full of confidence after their 1-0 win against Bristol Manor Farm extended their unbeaten run to eight games.

“We’re in the middle of a very tough run, and we have games against Taunton, Swindon, Salisbury, Winchester and Evesham coming up.

“All six teams will be looking for the play-offs at least, so it’s a massive period for us.

“The way we are playing right now, I’d back us to beat anyone in the division.
