Monday's Premier Division action review

By David Watters

Bottom-markers Histon managed to pick up only their third point of the EVO-STIK League Southern season to date with only nine men after holding on for a 2-2 draw at Holloways Park on Monday night, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

The visiting Stutes, who had only drawn two of their twelve league matches going into this game, took an early seventh minute lead when Ben Yeomans took advantage of some sloppy defending to finish neatly. But towards the end of the first half, Histon went down to ten-men when Jake Chambers-Shaw was shown a straight red card.

And a minute before the break, the ten-men conceded an equaliser when a corner wasn`t properly cleared and the ball fell kindly for Callum Mapley to drill low and hard through a crowded box. However, immediately after the interval, Histon re-took the lead when Yeomans was bundled over in the area and Ross Munro converted the resulting penalty.

Ten minutes later, SYCOB were back on level terms when Callum Bunting`s looping header from free-kick found the net. Histon were reduced to nine-men on 64 minutes when Yeomans was shown a second yellow card but defended well in numbers and deserved to get something from the game in the end.
