Big match is charity fundraiser!

EVO-STIK League Southern Chesham United are gearing up for a big match and its not their Emirates FA Cup clash at Peterborough on Saturday!

After hosting a footballs legends match last Thursday night in aid of The Wiseman Trust and heading to League One Posh in the first round proper this weekend, the fundraising Generals are looking forward to staging the Aaron West Memorial Match at The Meadow on Sunday 20 November.

Rescheduled after falling victim to bad weather last month, fans can pay what they want on the day with the proceeds going to the Aaron West Goalkeeping Academy, set up in the name of the teenager in 2011 to fulfill his dying wish of founding an academy for other young keepers following his sad death a year earlier from a rare form of liver cancer.

The Generals have been supporting the charity funded academy since first hosting a memorial match at The Meadow between the teenager's old team West XI and Wycombe Wanderers in 2013 and they are urging fans attend the 1pm kick-off as well as the fireworks display at their home on Friday night on the eve of this weekend's big cup match.

The EVO-STIK League Southern top flight club's officials say ticket sales for their trip to the ABAX Stadium at the weekend are going well and that fans who haven't purchased yet have another chance on Wednesday night when both coach and match tickets will be on sale during their reserve side's home fixture.

The Generals called on as many fans as possible to make the trip to Cambridgeshire in a statement on their official website this week in the build-up to the tie.

The club said: "This is another great test for Chesham, to follow the exploits at Bristol Rovers and Bradford City last season. Peterborough's ground is near the town centre, with plenty of shopping and the cathedral amongst other attractions, so makes a great day out for the whole family - not just the football fans - and has a great reputation as a friendly and welcoming place for visiting supporters."
