Monday's Premier Division action review

By David Watters

Hitchin Town moved into the top five in the EVO-STIK League Southern's Premier Division with a comfortable 4-1 win against St Neots Town at Top Field on Monday night, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

The Saints are struggling to get going this season, and came into the game on a run of five successive league defeats.

Matt Lench put the Canaries in front after 13 minutes but a header from Tom Ward pulled the visitors back on level terms just four minutes later. Hitchin restored their lead three minutes before half-time when Will Wright ran half the length of the pitch before firing home.

The second period saw Robbie Burns bag a brace on the hour-mark and 74 minutes to complete a comfortable win for the Canaries.
