Honours at the double for Bluebirds

EVO-STIK League Southern chairman Terry Barratt has been carrying out one of his most enjoyable duties since taking the helm this summer, honouring the league's stars and top performing clubs.

The EVO-STIK League Southern and Hitchin Town chairman was at Chippenham Town's Hardenhuish Park for their 2-1 win over Stratford Town to present Bluebirds hot-shot Andy Sandell with last term's golden boot award and reward Mark Collier and his promotion-chasing Chippenham Town side for their flying start to the current campaign.

Former Chippenham Town commercial manager Sandell arrived at the start of last season following his release from League Two Newport County, finishing the campaign with 22 strikes in the league and Southern League Challenge Cup to claim the top flight's golden boot before rejecting interest from elsewhere this summer to commit to the 2016-17 season.

With eight goals so far in the current campaign, the 32-year-old has picked up where he left off to play his part in the club collecting the inaugural EVO-SIK League Southern Premier Division Team of the Month accolade, won for their record of five wins and two draws in the opening month of the campaign.

The monthly competition to recognise and reward the top performers among the 68 clubs playing in the EVO-STIK League Southern's three divisions is being sponsored once again by the Southern League's title sponsors EVO-STIK.

Chippenham’s chairman Neil Blackmore is pictured collecting a glass trophy to record his club's achievement and a 4.5L bottle of Bell's Whisky to celebrate their success from the EVO-STIK League Southern's chairman after the Bluebirds were named alongside Hereford and Farnborough as this season's first divisional winners.
