Generous Generals lead the way!

The generous Generals - honoured as the charity's first ever Ambassador Club in 2011 - got their efforts this season underway last Tuesday night before the new campaign had even kicked off at an open evening at The Meadow featuring free coaching sessions from Chesham United Youth and a Question & Answer session with manager Andy Leese.

As well as collecting donated kit from the EVO-STIK League Southern Premier Division club's first and youth teams, the charity and its patron, former England boss Graham Taylor, OBE, are also looking forward to collecting a mountain of kit from fans who were invited to bring it along to the event.

A club spokesman told fans: "Many thanks to everyone who came along and to all the parents and coaches who helped organise the youth training sessions. A huge amount of kit was collected for KitAid on the evening but if you still have any old football gear do drop it off at either a first team or reserve game and we'll add it to the collection before handing over to KitAid."

Since its foundation in 1998 by Derrick Williams, MBE, KitAid has sent well over 200,000 items of old or unwanted kit and sports equipment to thousands of disadvantaged children and young footballers around the world and the charity is now supported by Non-League and professional clubs up and down the country. Other KitAid Non-League Ambassador clubs who've been honoured like the Generals for their outstanding efforts include Witton Albion, FC United of Manchester and Marine.
