Collicutt has faith in squad

By David Simpson

BOSS Paul Collicutt reiterated his faith in “the best squad I have had in my time at Evesham United” but remains in the market for new faces.

Last Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Mangotsfield United made it five home matches in all competitions without a victory, a run in stark contrast to some strong away form.

United have slipped to seventh in the Evo-Stik League South, Wet and want to boost their arsenal with loan striker Ethan Moore set to return to parent club Gloucester City after tomorrow’s home clash with Yate Town

Collicutt moved for Cirencester Town hotshot Ben Whitehead but the forward looks set to stay put despite added interest from Thatcham.

“I have faith in the squad and the people I have around me,” said Collicutt.

“I genuinely feel this is the best squad I have had in my time at Evesham but we have not been playing as well as we can.

“When my players are playing well, I know we can beat anyone in the league but at the same time I know we can lose to anyone when we don’t perform.

“We need to get it together. I believe in the way we try to play but we cannot seem to get the goals and clean sheets together at the minute.”
