Winning start for stand sponsorship

EVO-STIK League Southern Taunton Town have celebrated their latest commercial success at The Viridor Stadium by winning their first outing in front of the newly sponsored Invest Southwest End.

The Peacocks beat Wimbourne Town 2-1 on Tuesday night after signing a stand sponsorship deal for the Hamilton Park End running until the end of the 2018-19 season with the award-winning team of financial advisers who are headquartered in Taunton town centre.

Invest Southwest - the current back of shirt sponsors of the EVO-STIK League Southern Division One South & West club's away kit - say they are thrilled to be stepping up their support during a season that has already seen Leigh Robinson's side reach the first round proper of the Emirates FA Cup while staying in the race for promotion.

Invest Southwest's managing director David Penny said: "Invest Southwest are delighted to support a local team full of talent and performing so well. The players and management team are working their socks off and are committed to showing Taunton Town in the best possible light. Invest Southwest share the same values and are delighted to support this wonderful club. Up The Peacocks!”

Taunton Town chairman and chief executive Kevin Sturmey hailed the news in a statement announcing their latest financial boost.

"I am delighted that Invest Southwest has become our new end sponsor and it has been a pleasure dealing with David Penny, their MD, who I have known for many years," said Sturmey.

"As a new sponsor in the summer and one of the winners in our popular 'Shirt Sponsors' draw, David has followed us in what has been an incredible season so far and we have been continually discussing more sponsorship options.

"This has now been finalised with a two and half season long deal which will take us to the end of 2018-19. I hope this will be the start of a long and rewarding relationship where both of us continue to grow and be winners.”

Sturmey added: "The media spotlight this season due to the Emirates FA Cup run has been incredible with so much exposure for our existing sponsors which has resulted in unprecedented levels of interest from new sponsors and we are still adding new ones even in February.”
