Wednesday's South & West review

By David Watters

Swindon Supermarine dropped their first points of the new EVO-STIK League Southern Division One South & West season on Wednesday night, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Dave Webb`s side had won their opening three games but hosts Slimbridge had also yet to taste defeat, having won two and drawn the other of their three matches.

'Marine had a great opportunity to take the lead at Thornhill Park when they were awarded a penalty less than three minutes in but Josh Parsons` spot-kick was pushed on to the post by Slimbridge `keeper Adrian Kowalski and cleared to safety.

The first-half ended goalless but less than two minutes after the restart, Slimbridge took the lead when Richard Thwaite netted from 15 yards after good work from Johnny Cant. Six minutes later and parity was restored when Connor Waldon headed in at the far post from Callum Parsons` free-kick.
