Wednesday's Premier Division review

By David Watters

Frome Town moved onto nine points from their opening four games in the EVO-STIK League Southern's Premier Division after winning 2-0 against fancied Weymouth on Wednesday night, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

The Somerset outfit were tipped for relegation by many pundits but have certainly started the new season well. And they were ahead after 22 minutes at The Special Effect Stadium when Jon Davies netted a fine individual goal after a mazy run.

Weymouth suffered another blow when Chris Shephard was sent-off for a second bookable offence during the last few minutes of the first half for bringing down Josh Ferguson. However, the Terras defended well with ten-men and it wasn`t until two minutes from time when Frome were able to put the game to bed, Jake Jackson scoring after some neat approach work.
