Two teams who had lost their opening home matches in the Evo-Stik League South Premier last weekend, Royston Town and Weymouth, both secured excellent away wins on Wednesday night.
In front of a crowd of 324 at the Rushmoor Community Stadium, Royston beat Farnborough 1-0, while the Terras inflicted a heavy 4-1 defeat on Frome Town at the Special Effect Stadium.
A resolute performance by the Crows, who came up alongside Farnborough as champions of the Evo-Stik Central as it was called then, saw them take a 16th minute lead through James Potton.
The home side had the lions` share of possession after that, but were unable to break down Steve Castle`s men, who defended stoutly.
Meanwhile in Somerset, Weymouth couldn`t have wished for a better start with a goal inside the opening minute from Josh Wakefield.
Marcus Mapstone pulled Frome back on level terms in the 37th minute, but the Terras went into the break in front, thanks to a 43rd minute Brandon Goodship effort.
Jordan Rose, one of three late signings made by Weymouth ahead of the game, added number three just 6 minutes into the second half, and Ben Thomson round things off with a fourth with 20 minutes remaining.
