Wednesday's Central Division review

By David Watters

Aylesbury United made it three wins from their four opening games of the EVO-STIK League Southern's Division One Central on Wednesday night, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

The Ducks beat Fleet Town 3-1 at Thame, although they had to come back from being an early eighth minute Ben White goal down. The hosts equalised five minutes before half-time when Taylor Collins` effort struck the post and rebounded to Jordan Frederick who fired home.

Then, on 69 minutes, the Ducks went in front when left-back Ellis Hercules - nephew of Aylesbury's all-time leading scorer and appearance holder Cliff Hercules - shot through a crowded area and into the back of the net. Seven minutes from time and Aylesbury wrapped up the points when they were awarded a penalty and Reece Cameron put away the spot-kick.

The win lifts the Ducks up to third in the fledgling table while Fleet remain on four points. For the latest fixtures, results and tables, click on the Match Info tab on the home page.
