Wednesday's Premier Division action review

By David Watters

Frome Town moved into tenth place in the EVO-STIK League Southern's Premier Division table on Wednesday night after a best-of-five win over bottom-markers Cinderford Town at the AlderSmith Stadium, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Despite the hosts making a decent start to the game, it was the visitors who took a surprise 11th minute lead when goalkeeper Kyle Phillips came way out of his area and slipped over, allowing Jaye Bowen an easy tap-in.

Frome deservedly got themselves back on level terms three minutes before the break when George Miller headed home a Connor Roberts cross. Foresters `keeper Ben Fletcher was outstanding on the night and he made several good saves to keep it at 1-1 until 14 minutes from time when Aidan Kirby beat him with a header at the far post.

But on the breakaway, Cinderford shocked their hosts by equalising in the 83rd minute when, after some indifferent defending, Karnell Chambers fired past Phillips from the edge of the box. Then, just two minutes later, a long Miller throw ended with a looping header from Dan Cleverley to make it 3-2.
