Swindon Supermarine boss Dave Webb is not playing down the importance of this month’s fixtures as his side look to continue their promotion push at Larkhall Athletic this weekend.
Supermarine are set for a mammoth eight games in January in a spell that could make or break their challenge for automatic promotion to the Southern Premier Division.
And Webb has stressed it is essential to enjoy a positive month to ensure they don’t lose contact with the league’s pacesetters.
“January is a big month for us, we’ve got a lot of football and its coming thick and fast,” he told Your Sport’s Nick Taylor.
“I don’t think we’ve got many midweeks off so we’re going to need the whole group playing well.
“I hope that we can have good month, it would be nice to go the whole month unbeaten and get a bit of consistency.
“That’s all we are lacking. We’ve got good players here and a brand of football that I believe in, we just need to do it consistently to try and push for that second spot.”
Supermarine make the trip to Larkhall this weekend looking for their first victory after Christmas.
Larkhall sit 13th in the league on 27 points from 20 games played but Phil Bater’s side have not been in action since December 23, having had their last two matches against Bristol Manor Farm and Yate Town postponed.
The two sides have already met in the league on October 31, when Marine came from a goal down early on to win 4-2 thanks to goals from Josh Parsons (2), Connor Thompson and George Kellow.
And despite his side sitting in fifth place and 12 points ahead of The Larks, Webb is not getting complacent.
