Weather permitting, Cambridge City are scheduled to play their first home game since Boxing Day tomorrow when they host Barton Rovers at Westwood Road. A series of home postponements during the last month has restricted the Lilywhites to away action only in their bid to remain in promotion contention during the second half of the season.
Tomorrow they take on a struggling Barton side who are one place off the foot of the table having won just 4 times this season – all on the road. They arrive in not the best of form with just one win from their last 6 games. That came against Chalfont St Peter but the last two matches have seen defeats against Aylesbury United and Hartley Wintney.
In the Barton squad will be Drew Phillips. The striker needs no introduction to City fans after he had a spell with the Lilywhites a few years ago.
City go into the game following their 2-1 win at Fleet Town last Saturday. Boss Robbie Nightingale has injury concerns over right back Ben Robinson who was forced to withdraw early from the win in Hampshire. He will also be checking on the fitness of Jack Vasey, Ben Seymour-Shove and Niall Conroy before make a final decision on his starting line-up.
The teams have already met once this season when a goal from Ryan Sharman was enough to record victory back in late September.
