The Linnets are back in home action again on Saturday when Dunstable Town visit The Walks for a Southern Premier Division fixture (3pm).
With fans and the town still buzzing following Tuesday evening’s dramatic game with Hereford which saw the Linnets fight back from a two goal half time deficit to win the game by a 3-2 margin thanks to an injury time Toby Hilliard goal the club are hoping for another large turnout of fans to hopefully cheer on the team to another 3 points to maintain their top spot in the league.
“Apart from the smoke bomb incident the crowd were superb on Tuesday, top drawer to be honest, They stuck with us throughout and when we grabbed the third the noise was something else.
The players were talking about it afterwards and it made a huge difference, We will be needing their support throughout the rest of the season and it would be great to see a good turnout for Dunstable – the players deserve that after their efforts in the week’.
Culverhouse is expecting a tough scrap with Dunstable and says he is not fooled by their lowly league position.
“Until we got a couple of goals at their place they were at us and the game was in the balance said Culverhouse.
“The goals gave us control and it ended up a good evening for us, They will most certainly not come here and roll over that’s for sure.
“I’m sure they will be scrapping for everything as their need for points is as great as ours, As always though it will be about ourselves and our tempo and how we do things.
“We certainly do not want to be giving goals away like Tuesday because you are not always going to score three goals in a half, I know that people will look at the table and think it’s a given for a home win. We most certainly will not have that mindset and we know that all of our battles all over the pitch must be won before the points can be ours.
The lads were on a real high after Tuesday and now we need all of that positive energy channelled in the right direction for Saturday’.
