Waiting for International Clearance

Striker fustrated at delay

Ieuan Crowe arrived at Kayte Lane for Bishop’s Cleeve’s match against Shortwood United on Tuesday night only to be told his international clearance had still not been confirmed.

It has been more than a month since he signed his papers, which will eventually take him from Welsh club Knighton back to Gloucestershire.

The Mitres are without a match this weekend, but the forward is hoping by the time they play Slimbridge at home on November 4, he will be eligible.

“I was absolutely gutted on Tuesday,” Crowe said.

“I went with the hope of being eligible, but I didn’t have clearance so I went back home as the lads were warming up.

I know I’m not the only one with this issue and I’ve seen a couple of clubs tweeting the FA about the waiting time.

“I’m excited to get back playing for Cleeve, and I look forward to what’s to come.”
