Turnstile treat for charitable fans

Hitchin Town were offering half price entry to their EVO-STIK League Southern top flight clash with Weymouth on Saturday to fans who supported their shopping and coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer Support‎.

Fans who bought a tea or coffee and a cake at Top Field before kick-off to support the charity saw the 1-1 draw with the Terras were treated at the turnstiles after the Canaries laid on 13 stalls offering a wide range of goods and a mouth-watering selection of home made cakes.

* Ex-Luton, Spurs, Liverpool and Manchester City striker and Sky Sports pundit Paul Walsh was among the crowd at Top Field on Wednesday night when Hitchin's youth team were beaten 3-1 by an impressive North Greenford United side in the second qualifying round of the FA Youth Cup. The forward, now 54, was spotted at the cup clash with ex-Luton star Wayne Turner.
