Tuesday's South & West action review

By David Watters

There were just a couple of games in the EVO-STIK League Southern Division One South & West on Tuesday night but they produced 16 goals between them, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

And the vast majority coming at the Viridor Stadium where Taunton Town fans in the 301 crowd saw their side go goal crazy with a 10-2 win over Larkhall Athletic to come within a single goal of equalling their highest ever haul in a Southern League fixture!

Owen Irish, Ross Staley, Jordan Rogers and Ben Palmer all bagged braces in the rout, Shane White and Craig Duff adding further goals as the Peacocks powered to an eleventh successive win to climb into fifth spot with games in hand over all around them. Spare a thought for the Larks` Ben Brooks, who scored twice for his side.

The other game saw Wimborne Town move up to eleventh in the table following a 3-1 home win over Paulton Rovers.

Toby Holmes scored twice for the Magpies in the 29th and 35th minutes. Billy Lowes added a third just before half-time, with Nathan Legge `winning` the second half for Rovers with an 88th minute consolation.
