Tuesday's South & West action review

By David Watters

Salisbury FC moved into the top five in the EVO-STIK League Southern Division One South & West table on Tuesday night after a comfortable 3-0 win at struggling Paulton Rovers, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

These clubs were two divisions apart last season but Steve Claridge`s Whites are now settling down after winning promotion from the Sydenhams Football League (Wessex), while Rovers have struggled since suffering relegation from the EVO-STIK League Southern Premier Division.

In front of a season`s best home crowd of 452, boosted by a large contingent from Salisbury, top scorer and loanee Tommy Wright put the visitors in front after 21 minutes.

And four minutes before half-time, Wright doubled his and the Whites` lead. Victory was confirmed eight minutes into the second half when Tom Whelen added Salisbury`s third.
