By David Watters

Leamington head the way in the EVO-STIK League Southern's Premier Division after making it four wins from four on Tuesday night against Merthyr Town, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

The Martyrs first defeat came at The New Windmill Ground in front of 464 when James Mace popped up with the only goal in the first minute of stoppage time at the end of the game.

Chippenham Town are the only other team yet to taste defeat in 2016-17 and they also won by the only goal of the game at Hardenhuish Park against newly-promoted Cinderford Town, Matt Smith scoring after 32 minutes.

Banbury United suffered their first defeat at the hands of Dunstable Town, who join the Puritans on nine points.

In the 25th minute Dunstable took the lead when a cross in from the right was fired home by Alex Cathline from 12 yards into the top corner of the net. And that proved to be enough for the Duns.

Kings Langley recorded their first win since being promoted as Division One Central champions.

They won 4-0 at the Carlsberg Stadium against Biggleswade Town, who have started disappointingly with just a point gained to date. Immanuelson Duku bagged a quickfire brace for Kings in the 17th and 20th minutes. Jack Waldren added a third on the hour-mark and Sean Coughlan rounded off a good night`s work for the visitors with a fourth six minutes from time.

Kettering Town earned a good 3-1 away win at Redditch United, coming back from being a 15th minute Jordan Jones goal down.

Callum Westwood equalised on 66 minutes and seven minutes later Spencer Weir-Daley put the Poppies in front, with the same player making sure of the points five minutes from the end.

St Ives Town won local bragging rights by beating neighbours St Neots Town 2-1 at Westwood Road.

Peter Clark gave the visiting Saints a 28th minute they held until the 73rd minute when the home Saints equalised thanks to a Tom Wood own goal. Josh Dawkin then won it for the hosts in the 88th minute.

Relegated Basingstoke Town now have two draws and two points from their first four games after being held to a 1-1 draw at the Camrose by the side who came down from National League South with them, Hayes & Yeading United.

Aaron Jarvis gave Stoke a 23rd minute lead that Keir Dickson cancelled out 13 minutes later.

Dorchester Town are bottom of the fledgling table, but picked up their first point of the new season in a 2-2 Avenue Stadium draw with Cirencester Town.

Charlie Griffin scored from the spot in the 12th minute to take the lead for the Centurions only for Nathan Walker to level in the 28th minute. David Jerrard gave the Magpies the lead on the hour-mark but Cirencester’s substitute Ross Langworthy equalised six minutes later.

King`s Lynn Town and Cambridge City also shared the spoils at The Walks in front of a crowd of 562, who saw Tunde Adewunmi put City in front after 33 minutes and Leon Mettam equalise 16 minutes from time.

There were no goals though at Holloway Park between Slough Town and Stratford Town, who have drawn three of their games now.
