Tuesday's Premier Division action review

By David Watters

Leamington moved to within three points of leaders Chippenham Town in the EVO-STIK League Southern's Premier Division after beating bottom-makers Cinderford Town 2-1 at The Causeway in Tuesday`s only game, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

The Brakes required an own goal from Cinderford skipper Josh Nelmes to negotiate a nervy encounter with the relegation strugglers that leaves them with a great chance of taking the title race to the wire with five games remaining.

Courtney Baker-Richardson’s 19th goal of the season after 11 minutes had given Leamington a slender half-time advantage which was cancelled out just moments after half-time by Foresters` striker Nick Harrhy. And then came Nelmes` own goal, which proved to be the winner, in the 55th minute.
