Tuesday's Central & South & West review

By David Watters

Salisbury FC emphatically moved into fourth place in the EVO-STIK League Southern Division One South & West table with a 7-0 walloping of bottom side Bridgwater Town, whose relegation was confirmed, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

To be fair to the managerless Somerset outfit, they battled hard throughout but the Whites have a powerful attack, who are now just one off the ton for the season.

Tommy Wright after 18 minutes, Lewis Benson 2 minutes later and Eddie Perrett on 39 minutes gave Steve Claridge`s side a 3-0 cushion at the break.

Wright’s 40th goal of the season and 30th in the league came from the penalty spot after 69 minutes when Perrett was hauled over in the box.

Tommy Whelan made it a nap hand eight minutes later and Perrett bagged his second eight minutes from the end, although there was still time for the 517 crowd to see Wright complete his hat-trick three minutes into time added on.

A brace of penalties in the final 9 minutes from Jamie Cook sealed North Leigh`s 2-1 win at Bishops Cleeve, who led through Jacob Davidge`s goal a minute before half-time.

And Paulton Rovers won 2-1 at home against Bideford in the division`s other game.

The Devonians led at the break, thanks to a 43rd minute Sean Downing goal but loanee Mario Mateus equalised on the hour-mark and 10 minutes later, Elliott Gibbons won it for Rovers.

The only game in EVO-STIK League Southern Division One Central on Tuesday night saw already-relegated Petersfield Town lose 1-0 at Love Lane to a Hanwell Town side who hadn`t won in five, Dean Allen`s 64th minute effort ended Hanwell`s poor run.
