Tuesday's Central Division action review

By David Watters

Farnborough moved to within a point of EVOI-STIK League Southern Division One Central leaders Royston Town with a 3-1 win at Creasey Park against fifth-placed AFC Dunstable, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

The kick-off was delayed until 8.15pm, and it was the home side who were quickly out of the traps with a sixth minute lead from Bill Morgan. Nic Ciardini equalised just four minutes later but Boro went on to claim all three points with second half goals from Keith Emmerson and Perry Coles.

Potters Bar Town could have moved above AFC Dunstable had they won at Calthorpe Park against Fleet Town.

However, in a dramatic game, Potters Bar raced into a 3-0 lead with goals from Ashley Nathaniel-George after 25 minutes, an own goal by player-boss Craig Davis two minutes later and then Chris Doyle after 32 minutes.

Fleet hauled two back before the break through Ben White on 39 minutes and Pat Cox two minutes later, only for Eoin Casey to make it 4-2 with 12 minutes of the second half gone.

Danilo Cadette reduced the deficit to one on 67 minutes before a drama-filled stoppage time saw Potters Bar defender Sean Grace punished for handball, his second yellow followed by Davis converting the resultant penalty five minutes into time added on.

Barton Rovers are now eighth after a 3-1 Sharpenhoe Road victory over third-bottom Beaconsfield SYCOB.

Elliot Bailey gave Rovers a 20th minute lead that Jimmy Hartley doubled just past the half-hour mark. Callum Bunting gave SYCOB hope when he pulled one back a minute before the break but an Aaron Berry own goal 20 minutes from time settled the game in Rovers` favour.
