Tuesday's Central Division action review

By David Watters

Newcomers AFC Kempston Rovers moved into third place in the EVO-STIK League Southern Division One Central table on Tuesday night after edging out Hanwell Town by the odd goal in five at Hillgrounds Road, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

A rampant first half, with goals for Danny Watson after 16 minutes and a brace from Sam Johnson in the 27th and 44th minutes secured the three points for the Walnut Boys.

Two stoppage time consolation goals for the visitors from Tyler Christian-Law will have annoyed the Walnut Boys management, however.

Marlow moved up to fifth spot after winning 2-1 at the Runnymede Stadium against Egham Town.

Marcus Mealing gave the visitors the lead after nine minutes before Romaine Walker equalised in the 34th minute. Parity lasted barely four minutes as James Reading restored Marlow`s lead when he beat his own keeper to inadvertently score what was to prove to be the winning goal.

Arlesey Town moved up a couple of places to fourteenth in the table after a 2-0 win at Honeycroft against Uxbridge.

Sean Beesley gave the visitors a 20th minute lead that Shane Carthy added to a minute into the second half to secure maximum points.
