Tuesday's Central Division action review

By David Watters

Royston Town moved to the top of the EVO-STIK League Southern Division One Central's table on Tuesday night after a comfortable 4-1 Garden Walk win over lowly Beaconsfield SYCOB, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

However, the Crows had to come back from being a goal down when Harrison Mepham gave SYCOB the lead right on the stroke of half-time.

Just 5 minutes into the second period though, Royston were level through Adam Murray. Stuart Bridges put the hosts in front after 62 minutes and seven minutes later it was virtually game over with Josh Castiglione`s third – John Frendo making sure with a fourth in stoppage time.

The only other game on the night saw Aylesbury FC humbled at Haywood Way by Barton Rovers as they searched for their first victory at home this season.

The visitors slipped into third place after Dan Hutchins` 26th minute penalty and a 36th minute Elliot Bailey effort gave them a two-goal interval lead. James Faulkner pulled one back from the spot 11 minutes into the second half but Jason Blackett after 69 minutes and Rod Orlando-Young two minutes later confirmed an away win.
