LEE Spalding could introduce as many as three new players to his Swindon Supermarine squad by the end of the month as preparations continue for the club’s step-up to the Evo-Stik Premier Division.
Spalding, who guided Marine to promotion from the Southern League West Division two weeks ago, confirmed he is in talks with a trio of players who he hopes will boost his side’s chances of step three survival next season.
The Marine boss will enter his first full season as manager having accepted a deal from chairman Jez Webb following the club’s promotion to the third tier of non-league football.
Hopes of making it a successful season are high as Spalding revealed he has allowed himself little time off following the club’s promotion.
“The team have had some time off but it’s still busy for me,” said Spalding.
“I’m trying to get hold of players and to sort out the existing squad, making sure everyone is on board for next season. And it’s important we add to that to make us stronger as well.
“There are three players I’ll hopefully be speaking to over the next couple of weeks.
“It’s a case of having a chat with them and making sure they understand what we’re looking for as a football club.
