White Tiger on loan

Evo-Stik League South Premier club Tiverton Town have signed midfielder River Allen on a month`s loan from Vanarama National League South side Truro City.

Allen first signed for the Plymouth Argyle centre of excellence at the age of 11, going on to represent Argyle’s under-18’s as an apprentice.

He signed his first professional contract for the club in 2014 and made his first-team debut as a late substitute in a Capital One Cup game against Leyton Orient in which he took and scored the first Argyle penalty in the shoot-out.

He made his first League appearance in the Devon derby against Exeter City as a substitute in a 3–0 win.

He made a handful of appearances on loan for Gosport Borough in 2015 and then for Truro until the end of the 2014/15 season.

Upon his release by Argyle, Allen made the long trek to Gateshead for a trial and was signed on a one-year contract in June 2015.

However, he left by mutual consent in January 2016 and saw out the rest of the 2015/16 season with South West Peninsula League side Bodmin Town.
