WEYMOUTH club captain Ashley Wells is looking forward to the Terras’ clash with table-toppers King’s Lynn Town on Saturday in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division.

Wells has started the last four games in all competitions for the Terras starting from the 4-0 win against Gosport on January 1.

Wells said: “We are looking forward to it, it is a long old trip but we are very professional this season and we prepare right, we will have our clips on them and watch and make sure we know what we are going to do there.”

Wells praised the league leaders as he said: “They are a good side. They are like us, they like to keep the ball, they like to move it about, they are not a long-ball team they like to keep the ball for a while and open up chances.”

When Weymouth faced the Linnets at home back at the start of October the Terras won 3-1 thanks to a brace from Brandon Goodship, a strike from Charlie Davis and a superb performance from Gareth Stewart in goal.

Wells said: “They are a good team but then so are we, we showed at home we did not dominate the ball but if we get a chance we can hurt you.

“We are a confident bunch, we are never cocky or anything, we go into every game knowing that it is going to be difficult but if we apply ourselves right that we can win.”

King’s Lynn Town are currently on a run of form with one win in their last four while Weymouth have not lost in the last five league matches between the two sides.

Speaking of the challenge facing the Terras on Saturday Wells said: “It is a good test for yourself to show that you should be at this club and that you want to be successful. We are all at this team because we want to do well.”
