Terras expect tough Frome challenge

Difficult league to play in..

WEYMOUTH manager Mark Molesley expects another “tough challenge” from Frome Town as his in-form team looks to record a seventh straight Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division victory at the Bob Lucas Stadium tonight (7.45pm).

In an outstanding streak of form, the Terras have won their past six league games, five of them coming in a congested period of fixtures that concludes with their sixth in 17 days this evening.

Weymouth’s consequent haul of 18 points in that time has swiftly moved them into third place in the standings, level on points with leaders Slough and King’s Lynn, behind only on goal difference.

But with Frome winning 1-0 at home to Basingstoke on Saturday, Molesley is not taking the Robins, who sit in 18th place, lightly – particularly after St Ives, then placed 22nd, pushed his men all the way last time out until a late Harry Baker header secured a dramatic 2-1 win.

Molesley, whose side beat Frome 4-1 earlier in the season, told Echosport: “St Ives proved what a difficult league this is. The boys need to rest up and be right on it. The games are coming thick and fast.

“Frome will be looking to avenge the loss and their attention will be on that. They had a good win (on Saturday) and they’re closing up in the table. It will be another tough challenge.

“We’ll give them the right respect because they pose a threat to us, but we’re confident we can get the job done.”
