Taunton Town stretched their lead at the top of the Evo-Stik League South & West table to thirteen points, although they were held to a 1-1 draw at the Viridor Stadium by Bideford AFC.
Bideford were looking to return to the top six but faced an uphill struggle against a Peacocks outfit who haven`t lost in twenty-one matches.
Taunton went ahead in the 18th minute when Dan Sullivan scored with a fine effort
The Peacocks` Matt Wright hit the bar with two headers but the Devonians pulled level in the 68th minute when Ben Seymour slotted home a penalty.
Bideford are now three points behind sixth-placed Winchester City, who suffered a surprise 4-2 defeat at bottom-markers Bishops Cleeve – only their fourth win of the season to date.
It`s been a bad few days for Craig Davis` side as they suffered a 4-1 defeat at nearby Bristol Manor Farm last Saturday, and they fell behind as early as the 2nd minute to a Harlie Price effort.
City replied with an 18th minute penalty converted by Jamie Barron.
But a Danny King own goal after 22 minutes was followed by a Harrison Iddles goal on the half-hour mark to give Cleeve a 3-1 interval lead.
Joe Bates increased that to 4-1 with an 81st minute penalty, rendering Ollie Bailey`s 88th minute second for Winchester as just a consolation.
