Successful appeal clears defender

Ollie Treacher could run out for Farnborough in the EVO-STIK League Southern at Bedford Town on Saturday after Boro won their first ever red card appeal.

Delighted officials at Cherrywood Road have thanked FCVideo who provided the video evidence for their successful appeal to the Football Association over their defender's dismissal during last Saturday's 3-0 home win for Spencer Day's second place side over Kidlington.

In a statement on their website, Boro said: "This is the first ever red card appeal the club has made due to the cost of £250 should the appeal be unsuccessful and we are delighted with the positive response. A special thanks goes to FCVideo who provided wonderful slow frame evidence and Jim Hardy who completed considerable paperwork."

Ball-playing left-side former AFC Wimbledon player Treacher joined Chertsey Town in 2009 before following Day to Farnborough in November 2011. A key player, he has won Boro's Young Player of the Year award twice in recent seasons.
