Evo-Stik League South Premier club Banbury United have confirmed the signing of 30-year-old left-back Paul Stonehouse from Vanarama National League South side Hungerford Town.

Stonehouse was originally with Forest Green Rovers and made over 150 first-team appearances for the then Conference (National League) side, as well as having loan spells with Yate Town and Cinderford Town and a couple of loan stints with Gloucester City.

He then moved to then-league rivals Mansfield Town in the summer of 2010 before joining another Conference National side Bath City twelve months later.

In the summer of 2012, Stonehouse joined Conference North side Oxford City, at that time managed by current Banbury manager Mike Ford.

After a couple of loan spells with Slough Town in season 2015/16, Stonehouse opted to join them permanently in the summer of 2016, making
forty-nine appearances for the Rebels last season as they reached the Evo-Stk League South Premier play-offs before moving this past summer to National League South side Hungerford
