The Scot, pictured, has been out of football since quitting Ladysmead and the EVO-STIK League Southern Division One South & West but is set to return with Spanish Segunda Division B side Deportivo Tudelano.
After completing his coaching badges, the 60-year-old businessman is heading for Spain as part of a unique arrangement that will see him invest £150,000 over two seasons in sponsorship to Tudelano and the cash refunded to him should they win promotion.
Clarkson, who's also managed Crediton United, Launceston, Liskeard Athletic and Porthleven, told Exeter's Express and Echo.co.uk this week that he was looking forward to being "the best paid coach in Tudelano's history" if they do well.
The former Tivvy boss said: "I concentrated on finishing my pro license badges, which I've now got - you can't coach in Spain unless you've got a license.
"No disrespect to Tiverton, but the league I'm at is around the first division is England. I've been in it before - I won the fifth division and I won the fourth division.
"In England you don't need badges until you get to the Championship, I think, but in Spain, you have to have these badges. I'd like to think they'll make a bit of difference but I've been doing this for a long, long time."
