Smith Steps Up

By Jack Moore

Boreham Wood have signed right-back Kane Smith on a two-year deal from Hitchin Town.

Smith scored 11 goals and provided 30 assists in 120 games over two seasons for the Evo-Stik League South Premier side.

The 21-year-old former Luton Town youngster has previously had trials at Premier League side Crystal Palace and as well as Football League clubs.

"I think that I can bring a lot of pace and excitement to the club," he told the National League club's website.

Smith won both Players’ Player & Supporters’ Player of the Year for Hitchin Town in 2016 and Boreham Wood manager Luke Garrard believes that he is now ready to step up a level.
