Slough Virtually Secure Top Five Spot

Slough Town virtually assured themselves a place in the Evo-Stik League South Premier`s top five after a 5-3 win at Langford Road against mid-table Biggleswade Town.

And they led 3-0 at the break, courtesy of a Chris Flood brace in the 7th and 18th minutes and Manny Williams in the 37th minute.

But the hosts reduced the deficit to just one with two goals in 4 minutes soon after the break from Nathan Hicks and Connor Hall.

Flood completed his hat-trick in the 64th minute, but Greg Kaziboni made the Rebels sweat when he made it 3-4 just 10 minutes later.

However, a fifth from Perry Coles 2 minutes into stoppage time sealed Slough`s win.

Royston Town entertained Banbury United at Garden Walk knowing that only a win would keep their slim top five hopes alive.

But a 1-1 draw ended the Crows` interest in the play-offs, despite taking an early 9th minute lead through Martel Powell.

A goal from Anthony Wright cancelled out Powell`s opener on the hour-mark, but the hosts went very close to getting a winner in the 81st minute when a curling Powell shot from the edge of the area hit the bar.

The relegation `six-pointer` between Dunstable Town and Gosport Borough was off, along with St Ives Town`s game against Redditch United, leaving the mid-table encounter between Merthyr Town and Chesham United at Penydarren Park as the only other game on.

And that saw the visiting Generals win 2-1, thanks to an early 9th minute opener from Jefferson Louis and an Oran Swailes second 20 minutes from time, rendering Ryan Prosser`s 78th minute reply as just a consolation for the Martyrs.
