Setchell makes Mills number two

Gary Mills helped King’s Lynn Town boss Gary Setchell guide the EVO-STIK League Southern's Linnets to a 6-1 win in The Emirates FA Cup on Saturday after being appointed his new number two.

Setchell promoted Mills, pictured, on Friday after of his side's 6-1 rout in the Cup's First Qualifying Round of Northern Counties East League Brigg Town at The Walks.

Setchell said: “I’m really happy with what Millsy brings to the table. His energy and enthusiasm is second to none. He’s a great coach and the players have really taken to him since his return.

"He’s brilliant with the younger players. A little bit of experience certainly helps and you can see that if he’s standing on the touch line or recently on the playing field his enthusiasm gets players through the tough parts of games.

Setchell also added to his squad at the EVO-STIK League Southern Premier Division club on Friday, defender Danny Emmington arriving from Eastern Counties League Division One side Wisbech St Mary.

The 21-year-old has been widely hailed as one of the area’s hottest properties and Setchell, who has been tracking his progress, added: “I think this signing might raise a few eyebrows like when we signed Matty Castellan from Step 5 football but I am confident like Matty, Danny can make the step up to three with our guidance.

“The club`s philosophy at the moment is to try and get all the best local talented youngsters from around this area and we are sure that Danny is capable of joining the group of talented players we have at the club."
