Cambridge City, Egham Town and Salisbury are the final performance kings of the 2016-17 EVO-STIK League Southern season!

The trio were celebrating a final success of the campaign on Wednesday after being named as April's EVO-STIK League Southern Team of the Month winners in the Premier Division, Division One Central and Division One South & West respectively.

The monthly honours were sponsored by the Southern League's title sponsors EVO-STIK again this season to recognise and reward the top performers among the Southern League's 68 clubs. Like all performance kings, the trio will be presented with cut glass trophies to record their achievements and 4.5L bottles of Bell's Whisky to toast their success.

After suffering relegation from the EVO-STIK League Southern's top flight on the last day of the season on goal difference, winning the division's laurels for battling so hard to survive will be an early boost for the Lilywhites. Under the guidance of manager Robbie Nightingale the Cambridgeshire club collected 16 points out of a possible 18 in the league from five wins and a draw to average 2.67 points per game while keeping clean sheets in all their outings and scoring nine times.

Egham Town and manager Gary Meakin took 15 points out of 15 to secure a fifth placed finish and book a semi-final against eventual EVO-STIK League Southern Division One Central runners-up and play-off final winners Farnborough. To reach the end of season showdown and win the accolade, the Sarnies averaged 2.5 points per game courtesy of five wins and their losing play-off semi-final while scoring 11 goals and conceding six times.

EVO-STIK League Southern Division One South & West runners-up Salisbury averaged three points a game to win the division's final performance laurels of the campaign after also banking maximum points from five outings in the league before beating Evesham United in their play-off semi-final, Steve Claridge's side scoring 21 goals and conceding four times along the way.
