Dorchester Town earned a good point to move seven in front of the drop zone after being 2-0 down to third-placed Hitchin at the Avenue Stadium.
The opening goal came against the run of play as Matt Lench headed past keeper Shane Murphy from a Canaries’ counter attack. Hitchin doubled their lead after 33 minutes when an arrowed cross to the back post hit defender Toby Down, who couldn’t do anything as it bounced off him and into the net. Ben Walster, who gave Dorchester a route back into the game in the second half and Neil Martin earned a late draw.

Scott Barrow broke the deadlock nine minutes into the second half to put the Welsh side in front. And when Ian Traylor doubled that lead 12 minutes from time on his 300th appearance, a win looked a foregone conclusion. But credit the hosts who battled back through Lee Stobbs five minutes from time and then Jack Pattison a minute into stoppage time.
Banbury won 1-0 at Holloways Park to increase second-bottom Hayes & Yeading United`s fears of a second successive relegation, Conor McDonagh scoring the only goal of the game after 38 minutes.
Kettering Town scored two late goals as they picked up a second successive win by beating relegation-threatened Cirencester Town 3-1 at Latimer Park.
The Poppies fell behind after eight minutes when Kerry Morgan’s long-range free-kick beat Paul White. Aaron O’Connor was brought down by Matt Liddiard in the area after 37 minutes, and although Nathan Hicks’ penalty was saved, he followed up to score the rebound.
Cirencester were reduced to ten-men on 64 minutes when Ellis Dunton was sent-off and the Poppies made them pay as O’Connor was sent through on goal with five minutes to go to score. The points were wrapped up in stoppage time when Liam Canavan was brought down in the area and James Hall scored from the spot.
Cambridge City won their `six-pointer` at St Ives against bottom-markers Cinderford Town, courtesy of a 58th minute Ollie Snaith effort that lifts the Whites to within three points of the safety-mark.

Elsewhere, Ashleigh Artwell bagged a brace as Basingstoke Town edged out Chesham United by the odd goal in five at the Camrose.
Artwell scored in the 35th and 52nd minutes, sandwiched by a 49th minute Aaron Redford effort before the Generals fought back with two goals in the final 14 minutes from Sam Youngs and Curtis Ujah.
