In front of a crowd of 525, Courtney Baker-Richardson gave the Brakes a 47th minute lead. And 8 minutes later, a second from Ahmed Obeng ensured the points stayed in Warwickshire.
The only other side in the top five to play on Saturday were Chippenham Town, and they consolidated third place after a 2-1 win at Hardenhuish Park against mid-table King`s Lynn Town.
Andy Sandell gave the Bluebirds a 34th minute lead that Matt Smith eventually added to just shy of the hour-mark. Lee Stevenson reduced the deficit with 12 minutes remaining but the home side held firm.
The most amazing result came at sixth-placed Frome Town, who hammered tenth-placed Redditch United 8-1 at home.
Frome made it nine games unbeaten with a hat-trick from Jake Jackson, a brace from Mike Bryant and singles from Ollie Knight, Sam Teale and Jon Davies from the penalty spot.
Despite the Somerset side being in unstoppable form – Danico Johnson netted the Reds` reply just before the hour-mark when they were already 4-0 down.
Frome are now just a point behind fifth-placed Slough Town, while a point and a place further back are Banbury United after they won 1-0 at Kings Langley, courtesy of a 70th minute Conor McDonagh effort.
Chesham United are eighth with games in hand after a 2-1 win at a now fourth-bottom Cirencester Town.
Player boss Charlie Griffin`s 19th minute penalty had the hosts ahead but only for seven minutes as Toby Little equalised. And the Generals won it four minutes into stoppage time, thanks to Brad Wadkins.
St Neots Town`s new management team enjoyed a first win in twelve games to lift themselves out of the relegation zone.
The Saints edged out fellow strugglers Dorchester Town by the odd goal in five at home, leading through James Hall`s 33rd minute spot-kick.
Hall doubled his and the Saints` tally on 62 minutes, but when Ben Wood reduced the deficit two minutes from time, nerves became evident until Jevani Brown grabbed the home side`s third in the last minute, rendering Matt Oldring`s second for the Magpies in the second minute of stoppage time as just a consolation.
Second-bottom Cambridge City were beaten 2-0 at St Ives by Basingstoke Town, David Ray bagging a brace for the Hampshire outfit in the 15th and 41st minutes.
The day`s only other game saw Weymouth and Stratford Town share a 1-1 Bob Lucas Stadium draw in which Ed Ahenkorah`s early sixth minute penalty for the visitors was cancelled out after 17 minutes by Jake Wannell.
